Acupuncture for Pain Relief
Care for chronic or acute pain.
Heads, shoulders, knees, and toes! Also elbows and hips upon request. 😉
How Does Acupuncture Help With Pain?
There's a saying in Chinese medicine: where there is free flow, there is no pain. When an injury, tension, or years of wear and tear leave blood and energy stuck in one area, pain is often the result. Acupuncture helps increase circulation, so your body can repair.
Acupuncture is also one of the most studied treatments for chronic pain. Large research reviews have found it helps with back, neck, and shoulder pain. The American College of Physicians recommends it as a first-line option for chronic low back pain, but acupuncture can be helpful for pain anywhere in the body, whether it’s frozen shoulder, neck pain, tight neck and shoulders, knee pain, elbow pain, joint pain, etc.
From Working Around Your Pain to Living Your Life
If this sounds like you now:
You plan your day around what your back, neck, or shoulder will tolerate
You've stopped doing things you love, like hiking, gardening, or playing with your kids
You reach for pain relievers more often than you'd like
Sitting at your desk or sleeping through the night has become a challenge
Here’s what to expect.
Here's what we work toward together:
Moving through your day with less pain and more ease
Getting back to the activities you love
Feeling less dependent on pain medication
Sleeping more comfortably through the night
Your Path to Feeling Better
Getting to the root of your symptoms does not have to be complicated.
Step 1: Online Consult
We'll start with a free 20-minute online consultation to talk about what's been going on in your body, answer any questions you may have, and see if it feels like a good fit for both of us to work together.
Step 2: First Appointment
Next, you'll come into the studio for your first acupuncture treatment— $100
This is your chance to experience the medicine firsthand: what the needles, the space, and the experience feel like.
Step 3: Treatment Plan
If continuing with treatment feels like a yes, we'll create a treatment plan tailored to your needs and start the program that fits you best.
How We Get You the Best Results Possible
Meaningful change takes time and consistency, so we create programs, or treatment plans, for our patients.
Programs give your body the space it needs to get results that last and come with some extra perks:
Guaranteed appointments. There's always space on the schedule for you. You'll never be told we're booked for the next few weeks, or even months.
A clear plan. Once we begin, we create your treatment plan and book all of your sessions in advance, so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey.
No cancellation fees. If you need to cancel even just five minutes before your session, simply move your session to another available slot.
Support between sessions. Message your acupuncturist anytime through the patient portal.
Ongoing care. After your program, most patients continue with treatments every two weeks or every month to keep building on their results over time.
For pain, we usually recommend our Acupuncture Program, often starting with two treatments a week so your body can build momentum early on.

For pain, we usually recommend the Acupuncture Program, often starting with two treatments a week, so your body can build momentum early on. The price stays the same, three monthly payments of $320, whatever pace we choose. The program includes 10 sessions over 12 weeks in our treatment nooks, guided by a plan tailored to your body and goals.
Exact timelines may vary. Some patients start with two visits a week, and timelines can be adjusted for short-term residents and visitors.
The purpose of our free online consultation and initial visit is to work together to decide which approach works best for you. No need to choose now, we’re here to help you!
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Every patient is unique. Pain that has been there for months, years, or even decades may take longer to resolve.
The beauty of the treatment plan is that it gives us time to figure out what your body needs and how to get you the best results possible.
Many patients notice changes within the first several treatments, especially when we start at twice per week.
-
Absolutely. Acupuncture works well alongside physical therapy, chiropractic care, and massage, and many patients find each one supports the others.
-
Chronic pain is one of the most researched uses of acupuncture, with studies showing benefits for back, neck, and shoulder pain.
In Chinese medicine, we look at the whole picture, including stress, sleep, and how your body is moving, so treatment supports more than just the area that hurts.
-
Not always. Depending on what’s going on, we may place needles near the painful area, or at points elsewhere on the body that are connected to it.
Many patients are surprised by how much relief they feel from points far from where it hurts. This is one of the coolest parts of acupuncture. We don’t need to further irritate an already cranky place to get an immediate reduction in pain.
Come and try it out for yourself!

Acupuncture needles are about as thin as a strand of hair, so they’re nothing like the needles you’re used to at the doctor’s office. Most people feel a tiny pinch or a dull, heavy sensation as the needles settle, and then nothing at all. Many patients feel so relaxed they fall asleep!

We are not currently in-network with insurance providers. However, we are happy to provide a superbill upon request, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We recommend checking with your provider about your acupuncture benefits before your first visit.
